If you wondered why your windows were shaking or thought you lived at an Air Force base, it was because of the F-15 Eagle flybys that occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Monday. According to the U.S. Air Force, these jets are very maneuverable and can fly up to Mach 2, or 1,875 mph. The in-flight operation systems have been designed so that one pilot can perform air combat securely and accurately.
Although nothing has been confirmed, the air show may be because of President Obama's visit to Greenwich on Thursday for a Democratic National Committee event. Also Thursday, Obama will go to Stamford for a fundraiser for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal. Blumenthal, Connecticut's attorney general, is running against Republican Linda McMahon of World Wrestling Entertainment fame for the seat being vacated by Sen. Chris Dodd, a Democrat.
The time and place of the events have not been announced.
