Leaves must be placed at the roadside for pickup by Nov. 25 to ensure collection, according to a press release.

Collections from Nov. 25 to 27 will take place on Sound Beach Avenue, Shore Road, Old Greenwich and in the Banksville area.

Residents should rake leaves into piles at the shoulder, off the pavement of the road. The town requests that homeowners avoid raking leaves onto the pavement, sidewalks, catch basin grates and open channels, which cause drainage and flooding problems during rain.

Sticks, branches and other yard debris will not be collected. As an alternate, residents can use biodegradable paper bags for their leaves and place them for collection at the curb. No plastic bags of leaves will be collected.

Leaf collection is provided to all properties on public streets in building zones R-20 (half-acre) and below. On average, the town removes 30,000 cubic yards of leaves each year.

Leaf Collection Section Scheduling Information is available 24 hours by calling the Leaf Collection Hotline at 203-618-7698. You can also click here for details on your area.
