Greenwich Dad Charged With Hurting Child

A Greenwich man was arrested after a domestic violence incident in which his wife reported he had thrown dishes, glasses and two highchairs in the presence of their four children. When police arrived, they found that the man's actions had injured one of his children.

The 42-year-old man was found in the home's back bedroom. He was arrested on four counts of risk of injury to a minor, disorderly conduct, third-degree assault, interfering with an emergency call and refusing to submit to the taking of fingerprints. He was held on $10,000 bond and was due to appear in court Monday.

Also from the police department:

• A 38-year-old Greenwich man was issued a misdemeanor summons on disorderly conduct charges Sunday after a "tug-of-war" match with his wife. The husband threw some of her belongings out the front door during the fight. The two were involved in a verbal dispute regarding personal items that escalated. The wife reportedly shoved him in an attempt to get away after he threw her belongings outside. He was due to appear in court Monday.

• Carlos Gomez, 58 of 301 Funston Ave., Bridgeport, was arrested New Year's Eve on charges of driving under the influence. Police stopped Gomez for allegedly not having an illuminated rear marker plate and smelled alcohol on him. He failed a series of field sobriety tests, and police also found his car was unregistered. He was arrested on charges of DUI and operating an unregistered motor vehicle and was issued a written warning for failure to illuminate rear marker plate. He was released on $260 bond and is due in court Jan. 14.
