A great-horned owl, an American kestrel and a red-tailed hawk will be shown by rehabilitation specialists from the New Canaan Nature Center during the "Birds and Bagels" event, said Jeff Cordulack, events and communication manager at Greenwich Audubon.

"This is part of our family breakfast program series," Cordulack said. "This is a great event to introduce families to nature and the Audubon Center. It's a kid-friendly breakfast of bagels and juice and fruit and soon after that begins the birds of prey show will start."

The event will be held in Kiernan Hall at the center. It begins at 9:30 a.m., and the presentation will last about 30 to 45 minutes after breakfast, he said.

Cordulack said there will be an optional half-hour nature walk after the presentation.

"Audubon is alive with birds throughout the year," said Cordulack. Saturday's snowfall makes it easier to see birds, he said, especially with the lack of foliage in the winter. Birds will also be out searching for anything to eat following Saturday's snowfall, he said.

The event is $10 per person and space is limited. Cordulack suggested people call ahead at 203-930-1349 or send an email to greenwichcenter@audubon.org.

Payment will be accepted at the door. Cash or checks are the preferred means of payment.
