She was taken to Greenwich Hospital and was treated for bites on her shoulder and thigh and a scratch on her back.
According to the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, coyote sightings have become more common in the recent years, although human attacks are rare. Officials say residents can keep coyotes away from homes by securing garbage and compost in animal-proof containers and removing any food (bird seed, pet food and fallen fruit) from the yard.
