Freezing Rain, Hazardous Travel Possible For Morning Commute In Greenwich

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- An area of scattered snow and rain showers is expected to track east into Fairfield County through the Monday morning commute, the National Weather Service advised in a special weather statement issued 10:18 p.m. Sunday.

With temperatures falling below freezing, any liquid precipitation would be freezing rain, resulting in hazardous travel for the start of the morning commute, especially on untreated roads and sidewalks, the weather service said.

The chance of snow showers and freezing rain will continue through 10 a.m. on Monday, the weather service said.

The rest of Monday will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high around 45.
