Frantz Leads GOP in Greenwich Sweep

L. Scott Frantz, incumbent Republican state senator for the 36th District, will keep his seat representing Greenwich, New Canaan and Stamford. His win over Democratic candidate and Greenwich resident Nancy Barton was just one of many for town Republicans.

Republican candidates for the State Assembly, Livvy Floren for the 149th District, Lile R. Gibbons for the 150th District and Fred Camillo for the 151st District, all won big over their Democratic opposition.

For Greenwich Democrats, concession was not easy. "We're going to win these seats soon, I can promise you that," said Barton. "We have put the Greenwich Democratic party on the map.”

Greenwich resident and Republican U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon lost to Attorney General Richard Blumenthal. After conceding, McMahon said, "I'm not going to fade into the woodwork. You'll probably see me around.”

More than 20,000 of Greenwich’s 34,586 registered voters (58 percent) came out to cast their ballots in Tuesday's elections. Here's how they voted: (Boldface candidates represent winners of races.)
