Frank DelVecchio, 94, Owned Banksville Liquor Store

STAMFORD, Conn. - Frank “Snooky” DelVecchio of Stamford died March 11. He was 94.

DelVecchio was born Aug. 12, 1918, in Stamford to Ralph and Madeline Compolattaro DelVecchio. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps. He was a salesman for Hartley & Parker Distributors until owning The Banksville Liquor Store just over the Greenwich border in Bedford.

DelVecchio is survived by three children, Ralph DelVecchio (Phyllis), of Stamford, Lynda Nadin (Glenn), of Stamford and Margaret Capalbo (Rick) of Greenwich; four grandchildren; brother; Louis DelVecchio of Norwalk and Sister Louise Sierpina of Stamford; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Frances; Brother Salvatore DelVecchio.

Calling hours are Friday March 15, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave, Stamford. Funeral procession Saturday March 16, at 10 a.m. will leave the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Church of the Holy Spirit, 403 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford; at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien.

Memorial contributions may be made in DelVecchio’s name to St. John Fisher Seminary, 894 Newfield Ave, Stamford, CT 06905.
