Former Greenwich Girl Released From Fake Bomb

SYDNEY, Australia — A former Greenwich resident -- 18-year-old Madeleine Pulver -- was chained to a fake bomb at her family’s home in Sydney, Australia in an attempted extortion plot, according to the Associated Press.

A masked man entered the home and attached the fake bomb around her neck before fleeing the scene. The device had a note listing the suspect’s demands. Pulver spent 10 hours with the fake bomb around her neck until it was determined there were no explosives in the device and she was released.

New South Wales state police are continuing to search for the suspect.
