Greenwich Will See Widespread Snow Sunday Into Monday

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The weekend will wrap up with parts of Fairfield County seeing as much as 6 inches of accumulation Sunday into the early morning hours of Monday.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a high between 28 and 30 degrees.

Then, March will indeed be coming in like a lion as snow is likely late in the afternoon, mainly after 5 p.m. It is likely to continue until around 4 a.m., followed by a chance of snow showers and freezing rain.

Southern-most Fairfield is expected to see 2 to 3 inches of total accumulation with 3 to 4 inches likely in central and parts of Northern Fairfield and 4 to 6 inches likely in northern-most Fairfield before the system winds down around 7 a.m. Monday.

The outlook for Monday calls for a slight chance of light snow through 10 a.m., followed by gradual clearing with the high temperature climbing to between 35 and 37 degrees.
