FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — High winds and heavy rain — and a little snow — should make for rough weather along the Fairfield County coast late Wednesday and Thursday.
A high wind warning for gusts of up to 60 mph has been issued for Wednesday evening and night from Greenwich to Norwalk to Fairfield and up to New Canaan.
"Winds of this magnitude could down trees and tree limbs, power lines and holiday decorations. and cause minor property damage," the National Weather Service says. "Power outages are possible."
Rain and snow could begin around 1 p.m. Wednesday, with heavier rain and stronger winds coming Wednesday night. Up to two inches of rain could fall, says the Weather Service, which has also issued a flood watch for the Fairfield County coast.
The rain and wind should taper off through the morning Thursday. Friday should be sunny with a high near 39, the Weather Service says.
The next chance of wintry weather comes Saturday into Sunday, the Weather Service says.
