FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Drenching rains and gusty winds are expected throughout Fairfield County on Tuesday, bringing a risk of coastal flooding, downed tree limbs and power outages, the National Weather Service says.

Rain could begin falling late Monday night or early Tuesday, the Weather Service says.

A high wind watch has been issued for Fairfield County for late Tuesday afternoon and evening, the Weather Service says. Wind gusts up to 60 mph could knock down tree limbs and knock out power, the Weather Service warns.

Between 1 to 3 inches of rain is expected, the Weather Service says.

Residents on the coast could see flooding Tuesday afternoon and early Wednesday.
