Greenwich Liquor Stores Can Open Sunday

FAIRFIELD COUNTY — Beer, wine and liquor can now be sold on Sunday in Fairfield County and throughout Connecticut. Liquor stores can open and supermarkets can sell alcohol this Sunday.

Gov. Dan Malloy has signed a bill allowing Sunday sales. Alcohol can now be sold from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays and on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.

“Our current laws have cost Connecticut businesses millions of dollars as consumers have flocked over our borders in search of more convenient hours and lower prices," Malloy said in a statement when the bill passed the state Legislature earlier this month.

One area wine shop, Horseneck Wine in Greenwich, was already planning a party to celebrate. The store says it will be open from noon to 5 p.m. this Sunday.
