Domestic Violence Charges Against New Rochelle's Ray Rice Dismissed

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Domestic violence charges against New Rochelle native Ray Rice were dismissed Thursday by a New Jersey judge after the former Baltimore Ravens running back completed a pretrial intervention program, the Baltimore Sun reports.

The charges resulted from Rice's February 2014 attack on his now-wife, Mount Vernon native Janay Rice, in an elevator in an Atlantic City casino, according to the Sun.

After a graphic video of the attack was revealed in September, Rice's $35 million contract was terminated  and the National Football League  suspended him indefinitely. That suspension was later lifted, the Sun reported.

Rice recently sold his Maryland home and has reportedly moved to Connecticut so he can be near his hometown of New Rochelle, the Sun reported.
