Day at the Beach Turns Ugly

It was hardly a relaxing day at the beach Thursday for a woman whose cell phone was grabbed and thrown in the water by the father of her children. The man, who had custodial visitation with his three children, took them to a Greenwich beach and unexpectedly ran into the woman there. Police said Adrian Marcus, 43, of 44 Riverside Ave. took the woman's phone and argued with her. He then threw the phone into the water. It was eventually recovered. He was charged with breach of peace, criminal mischief, larceny and robbery. He was being held on a $1,000 bond and was due in court Friday.

Also from the police blotter:

Two New Rochelle men were charged with stealing a video camera from a boat Tuesday the Greenwich Boat and Yacht Club in Grass Island. Peter M. Gonzalez, 19, tried to gain entry to the boat but was chased off by the owner, who was sleeping on the craft. Gonzalez and his partner, Surpris Kwame, 19, were charged with burglary, criminal trespass, larceny and conspiracy. Both were being held on $10,000 bonds and will appear in court on Aug. 31.

Luis Gustavo Lima, 27, of 13 Hope St. in Stamford was arrested Monday on possession of marijuana charges. An officer saw Lima in a car at 780 West Putnam Ave. holding a blunt wrapper and small package of marijuana. When the officer approached, Lima quickly turned his head and tried to swallow the marijuana. He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and interfering with an officer. He posted a $50 bond and is due in court on Aug. 30.
