Brett Kenyon said he was on lockdown — and not sure what was going on — with other workers and guests at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, which is near the scene of the shooting, NBC Connecticut said.

Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old retiree from Mesquite, Nev., has been identified as the shooter at the country music concert late Sunday night. He opened fire on concertgoers at the Route 91 Harvest Festival from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel, police said.
Kenyon said he didn’t hear the gunshots but said he "was freaking out" as the chaos reminded him of the deadly shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown in December 2012.
It hits close to home after Sandy Hook, said Kenyon, especially since he just last week attended a concert at the shooting scene.
“It just goes through my head, like, ‘That could’ve been me. That could’ve happened last week,’" he told NBC Connecticut.
Paddock's younger brother, Eric Paddock, 55, of Orlando, Fla., told Daily Voice that there was no indication and "no reason" he could think of that would cause his brother to commit such a horrible crime.
"All we can do is send our condolences to the people who died," Eric Paddock said, crying as he spoke.
