CTTransit To Put Buses On The Road Monday Where Possible

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — CTTransit's local and express bus routes in the Stamford area that are able to operate safely will begin regular service Monday, CTTransit announced Sunday on its website .

But as cities continue with snow-removal work and with many roads narrowed or closed due to piled-up snow, some routes may not be able to operate in part or for the entire route, CTTransit said.

Riders were encouraged to use common sense and evaluate whether road conditions could allow for bus traffic and plan to find routes running on well-cleared roadways, CTTransit said. Customers should anticipate delays or detours, and plan travel accordingly.

CTTRANSIT, a state-owned bus system, will post lists of detours, known delays or routes that are not operating on its website .

HARTransit, which serves Danbury and has routes to Redding, Ridgefield, Wilton and Redding, was already running on a regular schedule Sunday, its website said.

CTTransit will also operate buses in the Hartford and New Haven areas where possible, it said.
