GREENWICH, Conn. A portion of Taconic Road in Greenwich was closed Wednesday because police were checking on a resident about whom there were concerns.
During the initial investigation, police found that the person lived alone, had been abusing alcohol, was possibly depressed and had access to weapons. Police said no one had been able to contact the person for several days.
After exhausting all other methods of contact, officers entered the home. They said the resident was uninjured but intoxicated on the second floor of the home and had been oblivious to attempts by family, friends and the police to make contact. Police determined that the person was able to care for him/herself and that no further action was required by the department. The gender of the resident was not disclosed.
