Burning Tanker Truck Closes Down I-95 In Darien

UPDATED, 2:10 p.m. DARIEN, Conn. — The left and center lanes of I-95 southbound have reopened, but the right lane remains closed following an accident involving a burning tanker truck Wednesday, according to Norwalk police.

DARIEN, Conn. — A burning tanker truck has closed down southbound I-95 in Darien on early Wednesday afternoon, according to Darien firefighters. 

Only the cab of the truck appeared to be on fire, according to firefighters. 

The fire is near Exit 13 for the Post Road in Darien, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation. 

Multiple fire departments and police units are on the scene. 

It was not clear how long it would take to extinguish the blaze or reopen the road. 

The fire was reported at 12:54 p.m.

The Norwalk Police Department posted a Periscope of the fire.
