A 1,500 pound, seven-foot-tall navigational buoy was the final piece needed to complete a new small waterfront park in Byram. The buoy was put in place Tuesday and has become the focal point of the park.
Encircling the granite pedestal are the four navigation directions: north, south, east and west like a compass. The town-owned property is close to 150 feet long and 50 feet at its widest point. The park sits between J. Catalano and Sons Inc. boat dealership and Interstate Lumber's yard.
