GREENWICH, Conn. -- The lawyer for a Manhattan fashion designer charged June 14 with stealing an $11,000 fur-lined scarf from Richards on Greenwich Avenue says she has been acting bizarrely since undergoing brain surgery , The Greenwich Time reports . Mark Sherman, the lawyer for socialite Beata Boman, attributes the theft to a behavioral change after the surgery.
Boman turned herself in Sunday on an oustanding warrant for larceny, from an earlier incident on June 11 where Boman allegedly stole a $725 Lorna Piana scarf at Richard's. Boman was identified through video surveillance. She was released on a $500 bond and is due in court Aug. 1.
