Barbara Gaulocher, Riverside Resident

GREENWICH, Conn. — Barbara Gaulocher, a Riverside resident, died Sunday at the age of 78.

The daughter of Beardsley and Marion Foster, she grew up in Darien and graduated from Darien High School. Gaulocher went on to graduate cum laude from Smith College in 1955.

She worked with the PTAs of Riverside School, Eastern Middle School and Greenwich High School. Many hours were spent working with the Greenwich High School Student Loan Fund, Smith College fundraising efforts and with the League of Women Voters and National Organization of Women. She was a longstanding member of Innis Arden Golf Club and was active in the tennis and paddle tennis programs there.

Gaulocher is survived by son, Scott, and his wife Ann and their children Todd and Mark; son Gregg; and daughter Adele and her husband Mark Depolito and children Luke and Lucy. Her husband, Todd, died in 1980.

Her funeral is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at First Congregational Church of Old Greenwich, 108 Sound Beach Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Barbara's name to the Perrot Memorial Library, 90 Sound Beach Ave., Old Greenwich, CT 06870-1414.
