Ardella Angeley York, 90, Formerly of Greenwich

Ardella Angeley York, a former Greenwich resident, died at her home in Bellingham, Wash., on April 18. She was 90 years old.

York was born in Port Chester in 1920, the second of five children. She attended Greenwich High School and worked in retail for many years. She went on to work for General Electric in Stamford, from which she retired. She married Joseph York in 1967 and the two lived in Connecticut before retiring to Venice and Port Charlotte, Fla. They moved to Henderson, Nev., in 1999 and lived there until Joe passed away in 2001. She then moved to Bellingham, where some of the Angeley family resides.

York had an upbeat personality and was an avid bowler into her late 80s, in addition to playing pinochle and casino, solving crossword puzzles, traveling and doing needlepoint.

She is survived by her stepson, Douglas York, and her extended Angeley family. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to Whatcom Hospice Foundation, 800 E. Chestnut, Suite 1-A, Bellingham, WA 98225, or to a charity of your choice.
