Greenwich resident Anthea Demas died of liver cancer on Dec. 15 at Nathaniel Witherell Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was 60 years old.
Demas was born in New York City and later moved to Greenwich. She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1968 and briefly attended New York University. Her nephew, Alex Demas, completed in the 2009 Westchester Triathlon in his aunt's honor after she was diagnosed with cancer.
She is survived by her brother, Dr. Christopher P. Demas; two uncles, Gregory Papalexis and Tom Demas, her nephew, a niece and several cousins. A service is scheduled at Round Hill Community Church on Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Putnam Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society in Westport.
