Eight Easton Streets Remain Closed From Storm

EASTON, Conn. - Eight Easton streets remained closed Friday morning due to downed trees and power lines from Thursday night's thunderstorm.

There were closures on Staples Road, Blanchard Road, Rock House Road, Silver Hill Road, Morehouse Road, Newman Drive, Beers Road and Dogwood Drive, Police Chief James Candee said.

United Illuminating crews were replacing the downed wires and have restored power to Easton homes. One home remained without power, according to the company's website.

Town road crews will reopen the roads after UI completes its work, Candee said. The town is clearing roads with no downed wires.

No accidents, injuries or major fires were caused by the storm, Candee said.
