Town Needs Better Way to Publicize Meetings

In response to Monday’s article "How Open Are Meetings in Greenwich?", Representative Town Meeting member Peter Quigley submitted the following opinion on how the town informs residents of meetings.

“It's a difficult task to keep [everyone] informed of all the meetings," the RTM member for District 7 said. He added that it is also difficult to make everyone aware of all the outlets the town uses to keep residents and RTM members informed about public sessions. "Ch 79 tries," he said. "The bulletin board in town hall tries. But there should be a better way on the town website for the posting of the list of meetings each week--one place for all meetings, with highlighted areas if meetings are being canceled or moved.” Do you think the town does enough to inform the public about meetings both before and afterward?
