AmeriCares and Healthcare Distribution Alliance created the Power of Partnership Award to recognize medical manufacturing and distribution organizations that have shown exceptional dedication to expanding access to care for disadvantaged populations.

Fresenius Kabi, which specializes in lifesaving medicines and technologies for infusion, transfusion and clinical nutrition, is a supporter of AmeriCares emergency response and global health programs.

The company provides product donations that allow health workers to provide quality care.

“Fresenius Kabi’s commitment to AmeriCares has helped us improve health for patients in need in 80 countries,” Nyenhuis said. “Whether we are supporting U.S. clinics serving the uninsured or medical volunteers bringing quality health care to remote areas around the world, Fresenius Kabi is a valued partner.”

Fresenius Kabi has supported AmeriCares since 2010, when the company provided medicines for AmeriCares emergency response work in Haiti after a devastating earthquake. Fresenius Kabi has supported more than 400 volunteer medical outreach trips and donated enough medicine to fill more than 350,000 prescriptions for patients in need worldwide.

In 2015, Fresenius Kabi expanded its support for AmeriCares U.S. Programs by becoming a sponsor of AmeriCares Mental Health Initiative. The program provides free prescription medicines for low-income patients living with mental illness across the United States.

“Fresenius Kabi is committed to ‘caring for life’ in every aspect of our business, and we see it as a privilege to support the vital work of AmeriCares and its network of volunteer medical teams,” said John Ducker, president and CEO for Fresenius Kabi USA. “We are honored to receive this recognition from AmeriCares and HDA; we share their passion and commitment to supporting access to care.”
