It was the fourth straight year Brucker ran a spring marathon for Family Centers. He endured the sub-zero temperatures and unpredictable weather often associated with Connecticut’s winters to train for a spring marathon.

And while he logged all those miles in hopes of running a good race, Brucker also aimed to help Fairfield County’s most vulnerable families in the process.

Leading up to the 2015 Cox Rhode Races Marathon in Providence, RI on May 3, Brucker collected more than $3,000 in donations to support the human service, education and health programs Family Centers offers to more than 22,500 local residents each year.

Brucker began running marathons in 2012.  Over that time, he has run more than 4,000 miles and raised just over $12,000 for Family Centers.

Brucker, of Stamford, completed the 26.2-mile marathon course in a personal best time of 3:35:50 and finished 179 out of 1107  runners.
