Self-Defense Classes Graduate From Greenwich Police Program

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Participants in the Greenwich Police Department Spring 2016 Women’s Self-Defense Class and High School Self-Defense Awareness Class completed their training and graduated last week.

The five-week program, which was held at the Police Department twice a week, was comprised of junior and senior high school students, along with adult participants between the ages of 18 and 55.

The classes were taught by Greenwich police officers.

Topics covered included techniques to bolster confidence during situations in which self-defense is required, and ways to overcome adverse physical and psychological situations.

The next women’s self defense class is tentatively scheduled to begin in the fall.

Times and dates will be made available on the Town of Greenwich Website when the plans are finalized.
