Chinese New Year is the most important of all traditional Chinese holidays and is known as the spring festival. The New Year begins on Feb. 3 and celebrates the year of the rabbit, the fourth of 12 Chinese zodiac animals.
The Huaxia Edison Dance Troupe, fresh off its 10th anniversary celebration, reveals the beauty of Chinese folk dancing, enriched with the cultures of 56 Chinese ethnic groups. The New Jersey-based troupe is made up of working mothers who learn and practice Chinese folk dances Sundays while their children attend the Huaxia Chinese School.
The celebration will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, at the Cole Auditorium of the Greenwich Library. The program is free and appropriate for all ages. No registration is required. For more information, call Yang Wang at 203-622-7924.
