The Greenwich Boys & Girls Club will transform itself for a German-themed festival as the United Way of Greenwich hosts its second annual Oktoberfest on Saturday. Tom Gabriel says the club, a United Way partner agency, will be turned into a Bavarian biergarten for the occasion, with a flow of beer and wine, an oompah band and mound of German food.
The event will kick off at 7 p.m., but a special wine and beer tasting will begin at 6 p.m. for guests who purchase tickets at the patron level or above.
Proceeds from the event will go toward the United Way's 2010-11 Community Wide Campaign. Ticket prices start at $175. For more information, call 203-869-2221 or visit the United Way website .
