Residents of The Nathaniel Witherell Rehabilitation and Nursing Center prepped Wednesday for the upcoming Luau Week by arranging flower baskets. Community members and some furry, four-legged friends joined them in the activity, and "Judge Judy" Judith Sheindlin of "Judge Judy" paid a special visit.
Mary Bruce, director of therapeutic recreation, said residents enjoy making the flower baskets and it also gets the community involved. Volunteer Coordinator Sally Van Leeuwen also said that the center extended a special invitation to their therapeutic dogs to join in on the fun.
The residents arranged dozens of flower baskets to get into the Hawaiian spirit.
