More Volunteers Needed For Dog Festival In Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – Adopt-A-Dog’s 27th annual Puttin’ on the Dog Festival in Greenwich is coming up, and volunteers are still needed.

The festival is a major fundraising event for the local shelter, and around 150 volunteers are needed to run the festival, which will be from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich. More than 7,000 people and their pets are expected to attend.

Volunteers will be needed to serve as gate attendants, silent auction helpers, judging ring assistants, and perform other duties.

Registration to volunteer may be done online at www.adoptadog.org. Deadline to register is Sept. 14. Volunteers will not be accepted on the day of the event.

The Puttin’ on the Dog Festival is Adopt-A-Dog’s largest fundraiser for its sanctuary in Armonk, N.Y. The festival includes fun activities, competitions, displays and demonstrations for people of all ages.

Adopt-A-Dog is a rescue and adoption center for dogs and cats. It serves Connecticut and New York, and its staff and volunteers care for rescue animals, and help to place them with new owners. It is a non-profit organization, and operates solely on donations.
