Little Sprouts Learns Gardening

Kids can spend some quality time with Mother Nature and learns such things as how to compost at the Garden Education Center of Greenwich's "Sprouts and Seedlings Enrichment Program."

Madeleine Marchese, a spokeswoman for GEC, said children from 3- to 5-years-old can explore and experience nature at their own pace. The eight-week program allows children to harvest their own vegetables, compost and grow wildflowers in the Teaching Garden.

The program is held Tuesdays or Thursday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Parents can register their preschoolers for the Jan. 6 to Feb. 25 session or March 31 to May 19 session. Cost for GEC members is $400 and $475 for non-members. The GEC will hold an Open House on Nov. 11 from 1 to 2 p.m., and on Dec. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. during its Family Trimmings Day.
