John Servidio, 89, Greenwich WWII Veteran

GREENWICH, Conn. – John A. Servidio, a lifelong Cos Cob resident, died May 14. He was 89.

Born Feb. 18, 1923 in Greenwich, he was the son of Gennaro and Rose D'Andrea Servidio. He attended Greenwich Schools and was employed by Electrolux Inc. for more than 45 years.

Servidio served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Normandy, France. He received the Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon, American Theatre Campaign Ribbon and Victory Medal.

In 2006, Servidio moved to Mews Assisted Living in Greenwich. He loved playing golf, listening to music and singing.

Servidio was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Servidio, of Cos Cob and Albert Servidio, of Indiana; and three sisters, Virginia (Borchetta) LaBruzza, of Cos Cob, Helen Santora, of Milford, Conn., and Josephine (Tiny DiAngelo) DeAngelis, of Stamford. He is survived by a sister, Theresa (Servidio) Bologna, of Riverside; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Castiglione Funeral Home in Greenwich. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Greenwich.
