Joan Lunden Speaks At Onsf Conference At Greenwich Hospital

GREENWICH, Conn. – Joan Lunden will be the keynote speaker as Greenwich Hospital hosts the ONS Foundation for Clinical Research and Education's sixth annual Medical Education Conference on Treating Musculoskeletal Issues in Females.

The conference is on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Noble Auditorium at Greenwich Hospital, 5 Perryridge Road.

The program features presentations in orthopedics, sports medicine, neurosurgery and radiology and will review operative and nonoperative treatment options.

Conference chairpersons are Dr. Gloria Cohen and Dr. Mark Vitale. The keynote speaker is Lunden, an award-winning journalist and best-selling author who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She is a health and wellness advocate who has dedicated her career to helping women and their families live easier, happier and healthier lives.

The one-day seminar is designed to further enhance the education of physicians, nurses, physician assistants, physical and occupational therapists as well as athletic trainers and coaches.

Greenwich Hospital Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing education for physicians. The ONSF Conference is offered to medical professionals at no charge, due to a contribution from an anonymous donor.

The objectives of the conference include a review of the female endocrinology and pathophysiology of musculoskeletal injuries as well as appropriate nonoperative and operative management of joint and soft tissue injury. In addition, emphasis will be on understanding the treatment techniques available and the recovery process.
