JIB Productions Brings 'A Christmas Memory' To Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – “Seasons Readings,” the theater adaption of Truman Capote’s “A Christmas Memory” will be performed on Thursday, Dec. 4, in Greenwich and on Dec. 11 in Westport.

The Dec. 4 performance will be held at the Greenwich Arts Council, 299 Greenwich Ave. The Dec. 11 performance will take place at the Westport Woman’s Club, 44 Imperial Ave.

Both shows will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

It will be presented by JIB productions, creator of the lunchtime theater series “Play With Your Food.”

“People who have not been unable to attend our lunchtime series because of work schedules can now come after work, while our lunchtime patrons can enjoy an evening out,” said Inge Maki, the managing director. “It’s a perfect way to get into the spirit and kick off the holidays.”First published in 1956, “A Christmas Memory” tells the story of the last Christmas shared between the seven-year-old narrator and his poor cousin in the rural south during the 1930s. It revolves around themes such as friendship and nostalgia.

“This story is a wonderful alternative to "The Nutcracker" for family fare,” said JIB Artistic Director Carole Schweid.Directed by Mark Graham of Trumbull, the cast includes Sean Hannon of Weston, Betty Jinnette of Norwalk, Richard Leonard of Cos Cob, Katie Sparer of Stratford, and Kristin Graham of Trumbull. Tickets are cost $30 and they include admission to an eggnog and dessert party with the cast after the shows.
