GREENWICH, Conn. -- Get outside this weekend, meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts and join the Audubon Greenwich and Greenwich Land Trust Preserves for Trails Day on Saturday.
The agencies will host a free guided nature walk through a combined trail system, according to a press release The 3-mile hike will span a variety of habitats, including a red maple swamp, several meadows, a lake and hillside forests. Visitors will hike some of the highest terrain in Greenwich and see an array of plants and wildlife. Greenwich Land Trust staff will point out ecological and geological features of interest.
The terrain is moderately technical with some steep and rocky sections so participants should bring sturdy shoes, a bottle of water and protection from the sun and insects, according to a press release.
Interested folks should meet at 10 a.m. at the Audubon Greenwich Center parking lot off Riversville Road.
