Miljenko Matijevic turns 49 on Saturday.

Miljenko Matijevic, who has owned a home in Greenwich, turns 49 on Saturday. The rock singer was born Nov. 30, 1964, in Zagreb, SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia.

Michael started his music career at age of 11 and formed a band with his brother, called "Teazer", which played Zeppelin, Sabbath and original songs. He was later associated with the band of  Don Stroh, owner of Showcase Studios, and formed Red Alert ( later changed to Steelheart) and had a record deal . The first album of Steelheart sold over a million copies with a successful world tour, and the follow-up, Tangled in Reins, had a successful European and Asia tour.

A tragic stage accident in Denver, while performing "Dancing in the Fire" from the "Tangled in Reins" album, led to serious injuries to him and marked the end of Steelheart.

Years after the accident in Denver, Steelheart recorded an album, Wait,  and the band went on tour in Asian countries,  where the  title track, "Wait" reached No. 1 in many Asian countries, and the 28 shows were a big success.

He also did the vocals for the motion picture, Rock Star. A documentary chronicling the life of Miljenko Matijevic entitled "Good 2B Alive" is currently in the works.
