GREENWICH, Conn. -- JCC Greenwich will present a conversation with author Wendy Wax to coincide with the Season 5 premiere of "Downtown Abbey" on PBS. Wax will discuss her novel, "While We Were Watching Downtown Abbey."
The story is about three strangers and the British concierge at their Atlanta high-rise, who meet and bond through weekly "Downtown Abbey" viewing parties.
The program will take place Wednesday, Jan. 7, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at The Drawing Room in Cos Cob. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
Wax is a national bestselling author of women’s fiction, including "The House On Mermaid Point," "Ocean Beach" and "Ten Beach Road."
"I've enjoyed a lot of TV programs in my day, but 'Downtown Abbey' is the first one that inspired me to write a novel," said Wax.
The book has been back to press seven times, appeared on major retailer bestseller lists, and was nominated for eBook of the Year by U.K. e-retailer Sainsbury. She was honored by the City of St. Pete Beach, where she was born and raised, when the City Commission declared May 12, 2011, as “Wendy Wax Day.”
The Drawing Room is located at 5 Suburban Ave., Cos Cob.
The costs for tickets is $18. Register at JCCGreenwich.org or by calling 203-552-1818.
