“Carly was the unanimous choice of the search committee” said Bob DeAngelo, the YMCA’s President and CEO. “She’s a high energy, results-oriented professional who can successfully lead our dedicated staff, bring out the best in our children and positively engage with our Childcare and After School families. We’re incredibly proud to call her one of our own.”

She previously served as Director of School Readiness Preschool for the Middlesex YMCA in Middletown, where she managed the school’s curriculum and National Association for the Education of Young Children certification.

Dinnie said she is looking forward to the challenge.

“I’m very excited to be joining the Greenwich YMCA family,” she said. “It’s an honor to be apart of an operation with such close connections to the community. My goal is to support this dynamic and unique program by championing the YMCA’s core values of healthy minds, bodies and spirits.”

The YMCA’s Early Learning Center is located in the heart of Chickahominy. Both childcare and after school programs will launch new curriculums for the 2016-17 school year. Infant, toddler and preschool programs will use The Creative Curriculum, aligning with Common Core State Standards. Online assessment tools will allow teachers to measure children’s development while giving parents access to view progress online.

The YMCA of the USA Signature After School Program targets nine major components, including Health & Wellness, Leadership Development, 21st Century Skills, and Service Learning. It also includes a fidelity tool, which measures children’s academic progress and program quality.

The YMCA of Greenwich has operated childcare programming at the facility on the corner of St. Roch and Hamilton Avenue since 1986. Over 200 children are enrolled in the center’s programming.

Founded in 1916, the YMCA is the largest community-based membership organization in Greenwich. Part of a well-known YMCA national network, the Greenwich Y has over 5,000 members. Its programs in healthy living and youth development seek to serve and to nurture the potential of everyone in the community, whether or not they have the ability to pay for its programs.
