GREENWICH, Conn. – The American Lung Association of the Northeast has added marketing professional Elizabeth DeMarte to its new Westchester/ Fairfield Counties Leadership Board.
DeMarte, who has more than 15 years experience in her field, currently is the vice president of Marketing Communications & Promotions for Rail Europe, Inc.
She plans to use her skills to further the organization’s efforts in promoting lung health and preventing lung disease.
“I intend to help elevate the current event fundraisers, already in place, to the next level and to launch new ones that will be most appropriate for particular communities,” DeMarte said.
Having been a resident of both counties, DeMarte hopes to connect the association with more communities.
“There are many different facets that the American Lung Association has to offer the community at large,” DeMarte said. “They help those who are healthy, those who are ill, and those who’ve lost loved ones. They also fund important medical research that benefits the community.”
DeMarte will also bring a personal perspective to the organization since her mother died of lung disease.
“My mother demanded of herself that she have a normal life,” DeMarte said. “She would not allow lung disease to stop her from doing the things she wanted to do and that, among many things about my mom, I will always admire,” DeMarte said.
Previously, DeMarte served on the leadership board of the association in New York City. As a volunteer, she’s also participated in several Fight for Air Climbs, the Lung Association’s biggest fundraiser supporting lung disease research.
“Beth’s seasoned experience working in marketing and her personal dedication to the Lung Association will only be an asset to our organization,” said Jeff Seyler, chief executive officer of The American Lung Association of the Northeast.
