She will go on to represent the state of Connecticut in the next round of competitions for the nationally televised Miss USA pageants.
The weekend competition showcased the accomplishments, talent and dedication of young women across the state of Connecticut.
“As a resident of Connecticut, I am incredibly honored to represent the pride and glory of our beautiful state as Miss Connecticut USA 2017,” Litvinenko said in a statement. “Through my participation in the pageants, I am overjoyed at the chance to showcase everything that being from our great state means to me, and I pledge to continue to make Connecticut proud.”
The 2017 pageant was held in Stamford from Nov. 12 to 13 at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa. The Miss Connecticut Teen USA contest was also held, with Lana Coffey, 18, of New Canaan earning that crown.
Contestants were judged in three equal categories consisting of Personal Interview; Swimsuit; and Evening Gown. "The competitions shined a spotlight on some of the best, brightest and most accomplished young women throughout the state," organizers said in a press release.
Titleholders will travel throughout Connecticut making appearances and acting as ambassadors of the state at a variety of charitable events, social functions and more.
The remainder of the Top 5 included:
- Mariah Malinguaggio, 24
- Caraline Bruzinski, 25, of Trumbull
- Amber Marie Walker, 27. of Stamford
- Jonét Nichelle, 21, of North Haven
Hillary Scoville, 23 of Newington was named Miss Photogenic. Fayne Nichole Mascarenhas, 26, of New Haven, was voted Miss Congeniality.
