Breaking News: One Teen In Custody After Clerk Punched In Fairfield Gas Station Robbery

Greenwich United Way Spreads Holiday Cheer

GREENWICH, Conn. – Fifty-three senior citizens living in one of Greenwich’s subsidized housing facilities received Christmas gifts of fleece blankets from members of the Men’s Committee of the Greenwich United Way.

The men were assisted by their children, who crafted cards for the recipients. The "Santas" arrived in an auto caravan to deliver the blankets and socialize with the seniors on Dec. 17. United Way friends from the Family Center joined in, bringing refreshments and more good cheer.

The Junior United way gathered and distributed gifts of clothing and toys to help local families in need. United Way Board and staff also played Santa, making contributions to purchase 33 gift cards for lower-income teens. The teens will use the cards to buy gifts for themselves, or for family and friends.
