Greenwich Organizes Summer Youth Basketball League

GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation is starting a youth summer basketball league for children ages 7-10.

The program will run on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. from July 8 to Aug. 19. The league will be held in the Bendheim Western Civic Center air-conditioned gym.

Registration will be held Monday to Friday, June 1-5, by mail only. Walk-in registration at the civic center will run from Monday, June 8, until the program is full.

John Czarnecki and his staff will coach the teams and lead the program. Czarnecki is certified by the state and has coached for more than 25 years. He has coached for the Greenwich Basketball Association, Greenwich Flame travel team, Greenwich Boys and Girls Club, and the freshman, JV and varsity basketball teams at Greenwich High School.
