GREENWICH, Conn. – The 3- and 4-year-old students who attend the Selma Maisel Nursery School at Temple Shalom in Greenwich finished out their school year by learning about Tzedakahl or charity.
Each nursery school student brought items to place in summer camp backpacks for children in need. The students then filled the backpacks themselves at school.
The backpacks were then donated to Starfish Connection, a nonprofit organization that provides economically disadvantaged children with the resources they need, such as these backpacks.
Representatives of Starfish thanked The Selma Maisel students, and discussed the concept of Tzedakah and the fact that people of any age can learn to give to others.
