In this offbeat but exciting debut feature film by writer/director Richard Kelly, Donnie, a troubled teenager played by Jake Gyllenhaal is plagued by visions of a large, creepy bunny rabbit that manipulates him into committing a series of crimes after narrowly escaping a bizarre accident.

"Donnie Darko" is a unique example of a commercial film failure resuscitated by audience demand, not the dictates of the market, hence its cult status.

Patrons interested in cult films should visit www.greenwichlibrary.org/CultFilms.aspx to read some of Ed Morissey's deep dives into the world of cult films in his blog.

The series is open to all at no charge and will be held in the meeting room.
