GREENWICH, Conn. - All of Greenwich is about to read the same book. The library will announce which one on Jan. 18 as part of the 2012 Greenwich Reads Together program.
The book has not been announced, but it will be discussed by the community in April with a series of programs and lectures. The public was asked to submit recommendations and a committee sorted through dozens of suggestions before making their selection.
Last spring's selection was The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak. Nearly 20 community organizations participated, including the Greenwich Alliance for Education, Nathaniel Witherell, Greenwich Pen Women and Neighbor to Neighbor. More than 2,000 Greenwich residents participated in events, including the two sold-out sessions with author Zusak, lectures, concerts and craft sessions for kids.
This year's book will be announced at 11 a.m. on Jan. 18, at the Meeting Room in Greenwich Librarys main branch.
