Family fun, food and great buys are expected Sunday at a fall outdoor flea market hosted by the Greenwich Orinoco Council #39 of the Knights of Columbus.
Held rain or shine, more than 50 vendors will set up at the Island Beach parking lot on Arch Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Dan Farrell, a Greenwich knight, says the money from the group's biggest annual fundraiser goes to support community work, including veterans programs, a scholarship fund, junior sports leagues, a fishing derby and other events.
"Grand Knight Loperena and Deputy Grand Knight Jonathan Fasone have donated many hours to this great cause as chairmen of the event," said Farrell. "The spirit of the Knights of Columbus is to give back to the community through out programs and outreach."Vendors will sell an array of items, ranging from antiques to personal-made gifts, and family-friendly fun and food will be offered.
