GREENWICH, Conn. Greenwich preschools were given school supplies and toys this fall thanks to the efforts of the Greenwich Junior United Way.
Volunteers gathered a variety of items contributed by local donors and fulfilled wish lists. They distributed dry erase boards, paints, CD players, sandbox toys and games to Greenwich Family Centers sites, the YMCA preschool and after-school program, and Byram Archibald Neighborhood Center after-school program.
The Junior United Way is made up of high school students from Greenwich and was established five years ago by the Greenwich United Way Community Planning Councils Youth Services Council. The teens work with local nonprofits, Greenwich schools and the Youth Division of the Greenwich Police Department.
New members are always welcome. For more information, contact Erin Montague, Junior United Way adult adviser, at 203-869-2221 or by email.
